Stop Dog Whining Today
Here are some tips that may help stop your dogs whining.
*Pretend It’s Not Happening.
When the whining begins, do not pet him and do not talk to him in your soothing caring voice because by doing so just reinforces the behavior. Your pet learns by whining he is going to get the owners attention. Since one of your dogs favorite things is your attention, the frequency of the whining could possibly increase.
Just hold your ground and pretend he is not there. Probably one of the best strategies out there to eliminate the whimpering is ignoring it.
Stop The Whining
*Rewards For Silence
After your dog whines, wait for a few minutes of silence and then proceed with giving him some praise and attention.
It is possible that whining is a sign that your pet is feeling some pain or discomfort so be aware that there are times that you should not ignore the whining.
*Take Note Of These Whines
If during or right after your pet has his meal he begins to whine, this could possibly be a sign of a problem with the digestive system. If your pet has started whining and has no appetite, started to limp or is lethargic then it is likely a medical problem.
The above symptoms are just a few examples but if they are showing any of the symptoms from above, go and see your vet.
Learning to stop your pet from whining is pretty easy, but the owner will have to discipline themselves to not acknowledge the whines and to reward the silence. If you do that it is quite likely that the whining will stop.
